The Interpretation Center of the Education and Training
Division provides police officers with the opportunity to study foreign languages. The Center also dispatches officers with foreign language proficiency when interpretation is required so that we can deal with various incidents involving foreign visitors or residents in an appropriate manner.
When foreign residents or visitors come to a police station or a police box because they are the victim of a crime or are involved in traffic accidents, or have lost their belongings, police officers who can speak their languages will deal with the situation.
If officers with foreign language proficiency are not available,interpretation will be conducted over the phone.
